Host Kathy Sinnott and Paul MacAree with guests Dougie and Margaret Hunter
St. Andrews in Scotland is the place from which the Catholic roots of the nation spring. July 5th marked the 700th anniversary of the consecration of the great cathedral of St. Andrews, brought to ruin during the Protestant Reformation. Bishop Stephen Robson of the Dunkeld diocese spoke a powerful and sobering message at the anniversary mass about the state of the Church in the 21st century. His message is featured in today’s show, in which we take a look at the faith in Scotland. Paul MacAree visits Edinburgh and Dougie and Margaret Hunter, founders of Scotland’s New Dawn Conference that is held annually in St. Andrews. In light of Bishop Robson’s message, they discuss Catholicism in modern day Scotland.
