The Celtics finally have a healthy (ish) team again and fall 99-97 to the Spurs. This is the first time in a long time that we had our normal starting lineup together and to start it looked good. Jaylen Brown was cooking early and Marcus Smart was zipping the ball around like the PG we have been asking for. Once JB checked out and Schroder checked in, we saw the ball move through Schroder and Tatum instead of Smart and the ball just stuck to them. The ball movement stopped and so did our offense. The Celtics had every opportunity to win this game down the stretch because of a couple excellent defensive plays from Marcus Smart and Jaylen Brown BUT both Brown and Tatum had horrible possessions down the stretch that ultimately put this game out of reach. We held the Spurs under 100 which is good but we saw the Spurs destroy us in the pick and roll game with Poeltl that forced us into mismatches all night long. The Celtics are now 2-10 in games decided by 5 points or fewer and that is a mind blowingly bad stat for a team with 2 "All Stars."
