On our last show the Celtics Talk Crew talked about the Celtics getting Marcus Smart back from injury but losing both Al Horford and Jae Crowder to injury when they went at it with the Chicago Bulls and the Cleveland Cavaliers. The Celtics since that loss to the Cavaliers have now played 2 more games first in Boston against the Denver Nuggets and then on the road against the Washington Wizards. The Celtics were forced to face the Denver Nuggets in Boston without Jae Crowder, Al Horford and Kelly Olynyk. This was after hoping Horford would be able to return for this game. Most thought this was a game the Celtics would win in comfortable fashion due to the Nuggets playing the night before. Instead the Celtics were thoroughly dominated by the Nuggets. The Celtics allowed 42 points in the 1st quarter. 77 overall in the 1st half and trailed 77-52 at halftime. The Celtics did make a bit of a run in the 3rd quarter before Brad Stevens opted to make substitutions which halted the Celtics momentum and allowed it to shift in favor of the Nuggets and the Celtics lost 123-107. The Celtics then learned that Al Horford was not progressing in the NBA's Concussion Protocol and announced they didn't know when he would be able to return to the court. 3 nights later the Celtics faced off with the Washington Wizards in Washington. The game against the Wizards took a similar storyline to the game against the Nuggets. The Celtics did get Kelly Olynyk to make his season debut but were without Al Horford and Jae Crowder. The Celtics were down 34-8 after 1 quarter and never really threatened after that. The Celtics Talk Crew will be joined by Ty Ray of the Beat and Eats podcast and CLNS Radio.com and Brenda Facemire from the Faceoff with Facemire show from talk2mesportsradio.com.
