The game the Celtics and many of their fans had circled on their calender finally aome and gone. The Celtics hosted Kevin Durant and the new look Golden State Warriors in the 1st of 2 matchups that we will see this season. Kevin Durant in the summer opted to choose to leave Oklahoma City and rather then join forces with Al Horford, Isaiah Thomas and the Celtics he opted to take the easy road and run to a Golden State Warriors team that has made the finals 2 years in a row and won 73 games last season. The Celtics were forced to play this game against Durant and company without Al Horford and Jae Crowder and it was obvious that the Celtic's without a full roster are no match for the new look Warriors. The Celtics went down by nearly 30 points and would end up losing 104-88 as Brad Stevens yanked the starters in the 4th opting to throw the white flag to look towards the game against the Pistons the next night which did not sit well with Isaiah Thomas. Brad proved he made the right move. The next night the Celtics got both Al Horford and Jae Crowder to return from their injuries and managed to defeat the Piston 94-92 in a game that came down to the final few seconds. Al Horford got the game winning layup with less then 2 seconds left in the game. Then blocked Aron Baynes jumper to at the buzzard to end the game. From there 2 nights later the Celtics faced off with a young Timberwolves team and it appeared as though the Celtics were gonna end up losing to another team they should be beating and it appeared to be an exact replay of the Pelicans loss where Celtics went 3 pointer crazy while the opponent won at the line. But Marcus Smart took a stand in the timeout and sparked a comeback that resulted in a 19-0 run to win 99-93. The Celtics finished the road trip with a 111-92 win over the Nets in Brooklyn. 6 Celtics scored in double figures lead by Thomas who had 23 points.
