It had been rumored for some time throughout this summer but earlier this week it finally happened. Danny Ainge pulled the trigger and sent Isaiah Thomas, Jae Crowder, Ante Zizic and the Nets 2018 1st round pick to the Cleveland Cavaliers in exchange for Kyrie Irving. Kyrie Irving waived the trade kicker he had in his contract which would have resulted in him getting another 3 million dollars added to his salary in order to help the deal go through. Fans in Boston however are torn on the deal. Most are disappointed to see Thomas leave as Isaiah Thomas proved to be the heart and soul of this team last season that made it all the way to the Eastern Conference Finals before losing to Irving, Lebron and the Cavs. We will discuss our feelings and look at what this means for the Celtics in terms of the money on the books. Meanwhile the NBA has finally released the schedules for the 2017/18 season. The Boston Celtics have been chosen to open up the regular season on October 17th as part of a TNT Double Header that will see in game 1 the Celtics travel to Cleveland to take on Lebron James alongside Isaiah Thomas, Jae Crowder and the defending Eastern Conference Champion Cleveland Cavaliers at 8pm Eastern Time. That game will be followed by the Warriors hosting the Rockets. The Celtics also made the Christmas Day schedule as they will faceoff with John Wall and the Washington Wizards at the TD Garden in Boston at 5:30pm ET on ABC. The Celtics Talk Crew will announce the full 82 game schedule and give their thoughts on the NBA's decision to push the season up 2 weeks in order to make the schedules for the teams more easier by going down on the number of back to backs the teams will have to deal with. We will be joined by special guest Adam Lowenstein aka Stats Adam as his gives us his thoughts on the Celtics schedule.
