The Celtics over the last week took on 3 playoffs caliber teams with 1 of those teams being the defending NBA Champions the Golden State Warriors. On our last show the Cetics win streak had increased all the way to 10 games in a row to give them a 10-2 record which was best in the NBA. The very next night the Celtics would take on the Charlotte Hornets. They entered the game knowing they would not have Al Horford who would miss his 2nd game in a row but would have Jayson Tatum available to play. Less then 2 minutes into the game Kyrie Irving was lost due to taking an elbow in the face by teammate Aron Baynes as Baynes was landing after trying to go for a rebound. The Celtics would play the rest of the game without Irving meaning none of the big 3 were able to play in the game yet the Celtics still walked away victorious 90-87 over the Hornets despite falling behind by 18 points in the 1st half. The Celtics announced Kyrie Irving suffered a facial fracture and would now need to wear a mask. He would miss the next game when the Celtics took on the Raptors but the Celtics would get Al Horford back in the game. The Celtics despite 43 points combined between Kyle Lowry and Demar Derozan managed to hold on for a 95-94 win thanks to a great defensive effort in the final minute when the Raptors had not 1 but 2 chances to hit what could have been the game winning shot. Kyrie Irving would travel with the team 2 days later to Brooklyn after being fitted for a mask as the Celtics would take on the Nets. The Celtics would take care of business in Brooklyn 92-88 as all 5 members of the starting 5 scores 14 or more to make it 13 wins in a row and that would set up the biggest game of the season Celtics vs Warriors with both teams on winning streaks. The Celtics would beat Curry, Durant, Green and Thompson 92-88 to make it a 14 game win streak which cementing themselves as a legit team in the league. We will recap the big wins with Rich Jensen who will join us on the show
