The Boston Celtics. A team that completely redid its roster bringing back only 4 players from last years Eastern Conference Finals squad. Lost its big name free agent signing in All-Star Forward Gordon Hayward 2 minutes into the season. Then lost All-Star Point Guard Kyrie Irving a month prior to the start of the playoffs leaving the team without both of its 2 big pickups from the offseason going into the playoffs. Yes those Boston Celtics ladies and gentleman are going back to the Eastern Conference Finals for the 2nd year in a row after having beaten the Milwaukee Bucks in round 1 in 7 games. Then making quick work of the Philadelphia 76ers in round 2 in 5 games in a series that saw the Celtics facing a team that many thought could be a NBA Finals contender due to the hot streak the 76ers were on coming into the playoffs. The Celtics now head to the Eastern Conference Finals to faceoff with Lebron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers for the 2nd year in a row. For the 2nd year in a row the Celtics will have the home court advantage over the Cavs. Unlike last years team however some people feel this years team does have a chance to get by the Cavs despite the injuries to Kyrie Irving and Gordon Hayward due to the lack of talent on the Cavaliers roster. The Celtics and the Cavs faced each other 3 times in the regular season with the first one taking place opening night and it was in that game where Gordon Hayward broke his ankle costing him his first season as a Celtic. The Cavs took 2 of 3 from the Celtics but the one game that saw the current Cavs roster face the current Celtics roster ended in a 121-99 Cavs win with Kyrie Irving playing. So how will the Celtics do in this series. Does it even matter knowing they are not healthy and that you got past 2 rounds without your 2 best players.
