The Celtics since our last show played 3 games. 2 of which were on the road against Orlando and the Nets before hosting the Toronto Raptors. The Celtics this season have struggled just to stay consistent and it continued during the recent stretch. The Celtics suffered a 2 point loss to the Orlando Magic in a game that saw once again the starting 5 outscore their counterparts but saw the Celtics bench get outscored by their counterparts and ultimately cost the Celtics the win. After the game Kyrie Irving made comments that appeared to be him blaming players like Rozier, Brown and Tatum for the teams inconsistent play. 2 nights laters those players had a chance to respond as the Celtics were in Brooklyn to take on the Nets they would have to do it without Kyrie Irving and Marcus Smart. Terry Rozier and Jaylen Brown would replace Irving and Smart in the starting lineup both have been vocal about feeling they deserved to start. So this was their chance to prove if they deserved to have Irving and Smarts spot like they have made it seem they have been claiming. However they were destroyed by Nets starting PG D'Angelo Russell while Rozier only mustered up 7 points. Many questioned if Irving was really out due to injury or if he was disciplined by the team or if this was the teams way of trying to end the issues in the locker room by forcing Brown and Rozier to start in place of Irving and Smart against a legit playoff contender and to let the result be the way to prove if its the veterans or the young players who have been right. 2 nights later the Celtics would be back home as they hosted the Toronto Raptors. Kyrie Irving, Marcus Smart and Aron Baynes would return for this game. The Celtics were victorious 117-108 knocking off the top team in the East. This game saw Irving, Hayward, Horford and Tatum all score 16 or more to lead the Celtics to the win. We will be joined by Rich Conte (@Richconte on twitter), Sam Eggert (@Samweggert on twitter)
