Celtics Talk Radio Episode 240 NBA Free Agency What Has Danny Ainge Done

Listen Later

The Veterans of the Young Kids? A Championship contender or a potention rebuild? Those and many other questions have been debated by Danny Ainge and the Boston Celtics and ther fans since back on May 8th when they were eliminated by the Milwaukee Bucks in game 5 of the 2nd round of the NBa Playoffs. Celtics GM Danny Ainge went into the offseason after surviving a Heart Attack knowing he was going to make a major decision of needing to either stick with his veterans and try to win a title right now or give the keys to the kingdom to his young kids and settle for a possible rebuild and look to make a title run that extends over a few years despite the fans not liking it here in Boston. The Celtics at the NBA Draft last week had 4 picks and rather then trading away their picks for a superstar alongside the young kids opted to pick 4 players from the college ranks which pretty much singaled which direction the team would be going. Now Free Agency is here and with the decisions he has made it appears Danny Ainge now has to prepare to lose both of his superstars in Kyrie Irving and Al Horford. What will he do to replace them and bulld this team around Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown. Can he find someone on the market to keep this team in contention or we his moves truly mean Boston is out of title contention for a while. We will discuss what moves have been made through the 1st week of NBA Free Agency as we are joined by Bobby Krivitsky (@BobbyKrivitsky on twitter) New TV Sports Director, Sam Eggert (@Samweggert on twitter) TNH Sports Editor and Celtics Writer for TSJ 101 Sports. We will be also joined by Andrew Vernon who is a lifetime Celtics fan and is a member of the We Bleed Green Celtics fan forum group that the Celtics Talk Radio host teams runs on Facebook.
