The 2019/2020 Boston Celtics have officially played their first NBA games as a team. The Celtics are in the middle of their 4 game preseason. The Celtics have played 2 games the first saw them take on their former teammate Terry Rozier and his new team the Charlotte Hornets. In a game that saw the Celtics come away with a 107-106 win. The game saw Brad Stevens go with a starting lineup of Gordon Hayward, Jayson Tatum, Robert Williams, Kemba Walker and Jaylen Brown, Jayson Tatum led the way with 20 points in 23 minutes. Kemba Walker in his first game as a member of the Celtics scored 12 in 21 minutes. Enes Kanter in his 1st game as a Celtic score 11 off the bench. Rookies Carsen Edwards and Javonte Green added 11 and 15 respectively off the bench. The Celtics were outrebounded 48-41. The Celtics 5 nighs later would take on the Orlando Magic. Kemba Walker would not play due to a knee injury. The Orlando Magic would not have their star big man Nikola Vucevic. Vucevic's absent would prove to be big as the Celtics dominated the Magic from start to finish. The Celtics opened up the game on a 10-0 run before the Magic called timeout. The Celtics ultimately outscored the Magic 35 to 11 in the 1st quarter and would never look back as the Magic never managed to get the game back to single digits the rest of the game. Jayson Tatum for the 2nd game in a row led the Celtics in scoring as he had 15. Marcus Smart added 14, Jaylen Brown had 11 and rookie Grant Williams had 10 off the bench. So the Celtics are now 2-0 on the preseason and have 2 games to go. We will be joined by Warren Shaw (@ShawSportsNBA on twitter) co-host of the NBA Baseline podcase.
