The Boston Celtics had a chance to make a statement in the NBA by knocking off 2 Eastern Conference Playoff Teams. 1 which is looking up at them in the Power Rankings and 1 which they are looking up at. However the Celtics failed in sending a positive statement and instead sent a negative one. Since our last show the Celtics knocked off the Cleveland Cavaliers 110-88 on Monday night. The Celtics then Wednesday night went into the first night of back to back as they took on the Indiana Pacers Wednesday night before facing the Philadelphia 76ers Thursday night. In the game against the Pacers the Celtics would be forced to play without Marcus Smart. The Celtics led by 10 points going into the 4th quarter however with 6:28 left in the game Gordon Hayward was lost for the game after taking a shot to the face and the Celtics would blow that 10 point lead in route to losing the game 122-117. Celtics fans debated whether it was more important to win over the Pacers even if it meant all but guaranteeing a loss to the 76ers or guaranteeing a loss to the Pacers to increase your chances to win over the 76ers. The following night the Celtics hosted the 76ers which was supposed to feature the return of Al Horford however Horford would Enes Kanter and Daniel Theis combine for 36 points which was nearly enough to negate the scoring of Joel Embiid 36 and Ben Simmons having a bad night for the 76ers as he only scored 7 points still lost 115-109. Meaning the Celtics are now 0-2 vs the 76ers this season. So did Thursday nighs game prove Daniel and Igors thoughts right that the Celtics just cant beat Philly and would need several things to go there way in order to do it so they are basically a 2nd round exit team this year? What about Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown what was up with them and their performances in that game should they get a pass for not showing up?
