The NBA is nearing a return with the league now planning to relaunch the 2019/2020 season in just over a month and a half on July 30th. Commissioner Adam Silver alongside team owners and the players still have some kinks to work out in order to guarantee that everything will run smoothly but a majority of the major decisions have been made on how the league intends to go about the relaunch and finish the season and a lot of those details are now becoming public knowledge. We will be joined by Alberto Carrus (Director of Celtics Nation Italia), Filippo Ferraioli (Founder of Celtics Nation Italia), and Andrew Vernon (a lifelong Celtics fan) to discuss the latest info on the format and the leagues plans. Plans which include 22 teams returning to compete for the right to win the NBA Championship with those 22 teams being all teams that were in the 16 playoff spots prior to the Covid-19 outbreak as well as all teams who were withing 6 games or less of the 8th seed in their respective conferences. All other teams who were more then 6 games back of the 8th seed at that time will have the rest of their seasons canceled. This means that the only 2 teams in the Western Conference that will not be part of the dance are the Golden State Warriors and the Minnesota Timberwolves the other 13 Western Conference teams will all particpate. While in the Eastern Conference its only 9 teams that will qualify with the Bucks, Raptors, Celtics, Heat, Pacers, 76ers, Nets, Magic and Wizards making up the 9. The teams will play at Disney World in Orlando with all players being put in quarantine and tested during the remainder of the season. Games will begin July 30th with each team playing 8 games. The Playoffs will begin officially on August 17th with a regular 4 rounds best 4 out of 7 playoff format with the NBA Finals featuring 1 team from the East and 1 team from the West.
