Welcome to the Kids Party Characters podcast hosted by Kent State graduate, consulting/coaching professional, and C.E.O. of Kids Party Characters, Cheryl Jacobs. This is about to be your favorite podcast! Cheryl is in love with making sure your child has the very best birthday party possible! Kids Party Characters offers several characters (princesses, comic book characters, and much more) played by professional actors, concessions, shows, and bouncy castles. Kids Party Characters doesn't just provide entertainment. They provide the time saving and energy for the parents! No more running around for party supplies or trying your own hand at face painting!  The second part of the Kids Party Characters podcast is Cheryl's other desire and that is to help stay-at-home parents start a business and become financially independent. She got her hand extended and is ready to help you reach your goals in the children entertainment business. This is your first step to great success!

In this episode, Cheryl discusses the C.E.O Mom and the stark differences those two words conjure up in our head. Often when we think of a C.E.O we think of a well-dressed businesswoman, who works entirely too much, is constantly stressed, and never takes any time for herself. A work-at-home mom might make us think of a woman who is in leggings and a t-shirt who sits at her laptop and chases toddlers all day. The work-at-home mom is the C.E.O of her business and should be treated just like the woman who goes into the office building.

Five ways to integrate the C.E.O. and work-at-home Mom

  1. Incorporate your schedule
    1. C.E.O has a calendar for the entire team
      1. Put business and family together
      2. Schedule the laundry and your meetings
    1. Don't answer the door, phone, or bake cookies just because you're home
    2. Make your business obligations clear to your family/friends
    3. Make your family obligations clear to your colleagues
  2. Set expectations
    1. Get your family invested in your business, money, happiness
  3. Hire your family
    1. Support is important
    2. Don't be a one-woman show
  4. Get help
    1. dependable
  5. Choose your tribe carefully

"Just because you're home, doesn't mean you're available."

"You can work around your family's schedule."

"Scared to think of their business as a "real" business."
