Is this unlawful medical detention or a legitimate mental health intervention?

In this video Dan Dicks of Press For Truth breaks down the controversial case of Nicholas Jordan Wagter, currently being held at Vancouver General Hospital under BC’s Mental Health Act.

Certified via Form 4 after a café sighting and family input with no full on-scene evaluation, Nicholas calls it retaliation for his activism and research.

Dan examines both sides: the serious red flags around due process, transparency, and potential abuse of the Mental Health Act, while acknowledging the lack of full context and why such interventions exist in the first place.

No court warrant is required for this initial certification, and immediate independent oversight is limited which begs the question, is this about protection… or control?
