As the church grew in the first century they endured threats from inside and out.

Returning to Paul’s letter to Timothy, Timothy is warned to stand firm against the

doctrines of demons – and you may be surprised to see the deceitful teachings Paul

warns against. Join us as we dive into 1 Timothy 4.

The role of the Deacon is that of seeing that all needs within the church are cared for. This week we’ll once again hear Paul’s words to Timothy regarding this most crucial role in the church, and we may find through the text that we have significantly more Deacons than you might realize… in fact you may be surprised to find that you are functioning as one already! manager – and it shouldn’t be. But do you know what that process should be

like? We all have church baggage and we all have a picture of what the

perfect pastor looks like. Is your picture Biblical, or have worldly values

shaped your expectations? Join us as we consider the character of the men

Many call Paul’s words in 1 Timothy 2:9-15 patriarchal and dismiss the

Scriptures altogether, rejecting his instructions as narrowminded and sexist.

Others attribute the tension to culture – that was then, this is now. Perhaps

this doesn’t apply today? And still others look at this and ask – how does

God want women to conduct themselves and why? Join us this Sunday as we

consider how women are called to conduct themselves in the church.

How are men to conduct themselves in the church? If the apostle Paul visited your

church this Sunday, what would he expect the men to be doing? What would he

expect their lives to look like? Let’s pray and dive in. Join as we consider 1 Timothy

2:1-8.

Returning to Paul’s first letter to Timothy, we find Paul urging Timothy to fight the

good fight while acknowledging the sad, disappointing truth that others had

swerved from the path. What battles are worth fighting today? How can we finish

Who is the Chief of all sinners? Paul ascribes this title to neither Timothy, nor the men who had been teaching strange, heterodox teachings. He applies it to himself. And yet, Paul was shown mercy and given a mission, providing an example for all those who call on the name of Jesus. Join us as we consider Paul’s example in 1 Timothy 1:12-17.
