To be holy is to be set apart, like those dishes you set apart for special occasions. To be sovereign is to have the right to rule, like the right reserved for the host of holiday celebrations. Simple enough when applied to our day-to-day tasks, but how do we make sense of these attributes when they’re not on display through man, but through the Creator of heaven and earth? When God reveals His holiness to man, what is the purpose of such a grand revelation? When God exercises His sovereignty, what do we do with those nagging questions about evil and the will of man? What role, if any, do we play in all of this? According to the Scriptures far more than you may think. Join us this Sunday as we conclude our study of the attributes of God!

What is love? What is grace? How do we know? We Christians claim that God is loving and gifts generously, but why does He do it? Why care about people so undeserving of His affection? Well, because it’s who He is. This week we turn our attention to two more divine attributes, our God: gracious and loving.

Do you trust God? Do you have faith in Christ and assurance that His presence-and-attention are the most comfortable and predictable kind of companionship. Or do you still view Him as an angry and dangerous agency looking to squash you like a bug if you step out of line? This week we consider God’s character: Is He good, and just, and merciful? Let’s contemplate if the God of the universe is a “good dude.”

Where is God? What is heaven? How does that play into our lives on earth? What does “where He is” have to do with how He engages. This week we will further our understanding of the author of this program, by coming to understand God’s transcendent nature, His presence, and His faithfulness.

In this sermon, we will consider how God perceives and acts. Namely, what He knows, how He applies what He knows, and the power with which he accomplishes this. This week, we’ll discuss God being all-knowing, all-wise, and all-powerful.

What is time? How does God relate to time? What is eternity? What does it mean to say God is eternal? How does this impact us now and what does eternal life look like for us? Join us in this session as we discover what the scriptures teach about these rather deep matters.

Does God need humanity? Who made God? How is the creator distinct from creation in terms of dependency? This week we begin an examination of God’s attributes as we first consider God’s self-existence and His self=sufficiency.

So how can we untangle the truth about God? How could we know who God really is and what God is really like? Well, it turns out that this is one of the primary goals of human beings. Jesus, in the midst of praying out loud in front of his disciples, said it this way:

John 17:3 And this is eternal life, that they know you, the only true God and Jesus Christ whom you have sent.
