The CFMEU is now proven to be corrupt – a recent 60 Minutes investigation has found the union has been using EBA agreements to fund organised crime and bikie gangs. This has been occurring in all states across Australia, including Queensland. The Albanese Government has put the union into administration, but has this gone far enough? The CFMEU has caused havoc within the Australian economy defrauding the Aussie taxpayer of millions of dollars, and the Labor Government is complicit. Successive Labor leaders have removed the industry watchdog allowing the CFMEU to work with impunity and little oversight. This is an open secret. The CFMEU has been linked to or directly responsible for the movement of drugs, including MDMA and methamphetamine. They have utilised stand-over tactics to bully small businesses and honest workers into unfair bargaining agreements. Over the past week, they have blocked the Cross River Rail. Their tactics have cost the country days of productivity. In Victoria, 18,500 days of productivity have been lost and in Queensland, 11,000 days have been lost. I believe the CFMEU should be deregistered as a union. We should return to separate unions such as a sparkie union, a plumber’s union etc. What do you think?
