Twelve Years Across Borders

Ch.12: Still Here

Listen Later

It is a Tuesday in April 2026. The cherry blossoms on Taihaku-dori are already down; the petals are pressed into the asphalt like wet receipts. In my office in Hakata, the coffee on the desk has gone cold. Over twelve years I have worked with more than a thousand patients and their families. The ones still alive who occasionally send me a message that says some version of Mr. Lin, how have you been number about thirty. The honest long-term response rate is in single digits. The company did not get big. I have two colleagues. But I am still here, still picking up the phone. At forty-three, that feels like enough.

In this episode: the numbers honestly, what twelve years actually built, why the small office in Hakata is still here.
