Mauri is a young first generation American Bangladeshi. Having moved from Jackson Heights, NY to Jersey City, NJ  and now a small town in Connecticut she has got alot to say.

Growing up as a "desi" we've learned to be loud and proud of our culture but to be quiet about the not so colorful subjects in our society. I want to challenge the status quo and spark conversations so that it not only raises awareness, but promotes action. So grab your cup of chai and join me while I spill the chai on being the " brown sheep" of the desi society and you may just see- that you are not alone but most importantly you too can raise your voice.

 Warning: Mauri may use a filter while making her chai, but its #nofilter when it comes to spilling it.
