Since we're celebrating Africa Month, we'd like to discuss one of the issues that African women face when traveling alone across the continent. When it comes to culture and traditions, black women, or rather African women, are held to a higher standard than their white counterparts. Black women are expected to be culturally aware and to act in a certain way in terms of clothing, candour, and demeanour. We'll talk about some of these traditions and experiences with Lerato 'Madam Afrika' and Dr Zulu Mathabo in this conversation.
