Las teclas de la marimba anuncian una caravana de cuerpos negros contoneándose en clave de resistencia. La música de los tambores, el ritmo de los cuerpos, la oralidad ancestral de lo afro resisten al paso del tiempo y a la diáspora que ha transitado por siglos desde tierras lejanas hasta los espacios afroamericanos, tales como el Pacífico Colombiano.
La diáspora como un espacio seguro frente a la esclavitud, la guerra, el hambre, el racismo, lo colonial… mantiene la vida al son de la marimba, del tambor y de personajes místicos que protegen al pueblo negro de la muerte total, manteniendo un hilo fino entre los perecidos y los vivos, un hilo que se manifiesta en los cantos fúnebres y en la tradición oral que no olvida a los ausentes.
El patrimonio del Pacífico colombiano es narrativa de la vivencia del cuerpo negro en América. Es testimonio de resistencia cultural al paso del tiempo y la barbarie, de los viajes entre espacios, del desplazamiento, la guerra y la muerte. Es clamor por la esperanza de existir bailando, de ser en la diversidad, de justicia y dignidad sin importar el color de piel.
El patrimonio afrocolombiano es muestra de vida. Un tambor siempre pervive, siempre vuelve a retumbar como un latido de fuerza.

"CHAMBACÚ AND URIBERTA", The Maroons who emancipated through the flavour of their festivities.
The keys of the marimba announce a caravan of black bodies swaying towards their resistance. The music of the drums, the rhythm of the bodies, the Afro-ancestral orality resists the passage of time and the diaspora that has travelled for centuries from distant lands to Afro-American spaces, such as the Colombian Pacific.
The diaspora becomes a safe space against slavery, war, hunger, racism, and the colony ... it maintains life to the beat of the marimba, the drum and the mystical characters that protect black people from total annihilation, maintaining a fine thread between the absent and the living, a thread that manifests itself in funeral songs and in an oral tradition that does not forget those who passed away.
The heritage of the Colombian Pacific is a tale about the experience of the black bodies in America. It is a testimony of cultural resistance against forgetfulness and barbarism, about the travel between spaces, of displacement, war and death. It is a clamour for the hope of dancing freely and existing in diversity; of justice and dignity regardless of skin colour. The Afro-Colombian heritage is a sign of life. A drum always lives on, it always rumbles again like a heartbeat.
