Change can be exciting, positive and something you have chosen, while still leaving you feeling completely exhausted. In this episode, I share what our recent house move has taught me about having compassion for yourself in the messy middle of change.

We talk about why transitions take so much energy, even when they bring wonderful opportunities. For autistic children, change can mean adjusting to new sounds, smells, routines, expectations and environments. As parents, we are often trying to manage the practical side of life while also helping our children feel safe, supported and regulated.

I also explore the pressure we place on ourselves to adjust quickly, get everything done and return to normal as soon as possible. Feeling tired, disconnected, overwhelmed or slower than usual does not mean you are failing. It may simply mean that your mind, body and nervous system are processing something new.

In this episode, I share practical ways to lower the pressure without giving up on what matters. You will learn how to rebuild momentum through small wins, recognise what genuinely needs your attention and ask yourself what would support you today.

You do not need to force your way through change or have everything under control. You are allowed to settle, adjust and begin again with more patience, calm and compassion.
