With a stable family, deep roots in the community, and a solid plan my transition to civilian life had all the essential elements to go smoothly… except it didn't. Getting the life you want requires more than that. It takes the ability to continue to learn and serve something bigger than yourself even if you wrongly put your faith in your former job, a title, or a phase of life.
