In Episode 1 of CHANGEmakers, we highlight Cecily Mendelson, a young visionary committed to sparking imagination in the next generation. Through Philanthropy Tank, students create year‑round programs that solve a challenge in our community. Through the process of creating a program, pitching it to philanthropist investors and mentors, and implementing the program, students learn many transferable professional skills and impact the community.

Cecily’s program, Curiosity Crew, seeks to share the fun of science through interactive, exciting, and educational labs that enrich elementary school students’ learning. Her mission is to build an after‑school initiative where play has a purpose—empowering kids to explore, discover, and stay curious.
