Robin of Loxley vs Little John
1 Chron 20:1 It happened after this that the people of
Moab with the people of Ammon, and others with them
besides the Ammonites, came to battle against
Jehoshaphat. 2 Then some came and told Jehoshaphat,
saying, “A great multitude is coming against you from
beyond the sea, from Syria; and they are in Hazazon
Tamar” (which is En Gedi). 3 And Jehoshaphat feared,
and set himself to seek the Lord, and proclaimed a fast
throughout all Judah. 4 So Judah gathered together to
ask help from the Lord; and from all the cities of Judah
they came to seek the Lord.
1. The first thing that Jehoshaphat did was fear.
a. Some Christians would say that Jehoshaphat
wasn’t in faith because he feared.
b. Some would say that he just needed more
faith
c. Some would ask “what did he do, or what
has he been doing for this to come upon
him”
2. Fear is going to come...circumstances are going to
come...what you do with them will determine the
outcome of your story.
3. You can choose to fight the devil for victory in his
domain...or you can choose to fight from victory in
the spirit.
a. Eph 6:10 Finally, my brethren, be strong in
the Lord and in the power of His might.
b. Col 2:11 In Him you were also circumcised
with the circumcision made without hands,
by putting off the body of the sins of the
flesh, by the circumcision of Christ, 12 buried
with Him in baptism, in which you also were
raised with Him through faith in the working
of God, who raised Him from the dead. 13
And you, being dead in your trespasses and
the uncircumcision of your flesh, He has
made alive together with Him, having
forgiven you all trespasses, 14 having wiped
out the handwriting of requirements that
was against us, which was contrary to us.
And He has taken it out of the way, having
nailed it to the cross. 15 Having disarmed
principalities and powers, He made a public
spectacle of them, triumphing over them in
it.
c. 2 Cor 10:3 For though we walk in the flesh,
we do not war according to the flesh. 4 For
the weapons of our warfare are not carnal
but mighty in God for pulling down
strongholds, 5 casting down arguments and
every high thing that exalts itself against the
knowledge of God, bringing every thought
into captivity to the obedience of Christ, 6
and being ready to punish all disobedience
when your obedience is fulfilled.
