The miracle of Hanukkah was not only with finding the jug of oil and being able to light the menorah in the Bais Hamikdash lighting up the whole world with positivity. It was also celebrating the victory over the war with the Greeks in miraculous Way. This represents the serving of a Hashem, which is “go away from evil and doing good” the idea is that it’s not only that the going away from evil is a prerequisite to do good, and make a home for a Hashem. In a deeper sense the going away from evil could be the going away from our self imposed limitations, the ones that we put on ourselves putting ourselves in a box that we can’t do more or be better people and this is just who we are, the thing is that sometimes being too preoccupied with ourselves we don’t allow anybody else in not even Hashem, therefore this type of going away from evil in itself is actually a way of serving Hashem because you’re allowing him into your life the same way as when you do a positive mitzvah.
