The much maligned Disney CEO Bob Chapek has informed the Disney company that he is stepping down. In response Disney reached out to former CEO Bob Iger to return. 

Iger was replaced by Chapek in February of 2020, but stayed with the company until the end of 2021. Iger is reported to reach a two year deal to return as CEO. During that he will be searching for, and grooming, the next CEO.

Iger has a lot of experience within the Disney company, and was very popular during his time there. Chapek was dealt a rough draw with the pandemic at the start of his tenure, but there was a lot of decision by him that remain very unpopular among fans, Cast Members, and others within the company.
