I discovered the works of the great J.R.R. Tolkien during my teenage years. Never before had I read such a unique and masterful way of storytelling. The works of Tolkien opened my eyes to other fantasy (and science fiction) books/series of which public education refrained from acknowledging. I couldn't stand the standard reading lists administered by my schools; to me, they were incredibly unrelatable and uninteresting.
The works of Tolkien ignited my desire to begin reading again, a passion I had lost for some time. Follow along as I explain how I found Tolkien's legendarium, what I found that made it so impressionable, and how it has influenced my life thus far.
