Eli Mercer is a struggling man living in a future where people can rent out their bodies while they sleep to earn money. Desperate for cash, he accepts a high-paying, unverified rental despite the risks. During the session, something goes wrong—Eli becomes partially conscious and witnesses, from inside his own body, a murder being committed. He is unable to stop it. When he wakes, he finds the payment deposited… along with a legal alert: he’s been charged with first-degree homicide. Moments later, authorities arrive at his apartment. Realizing the system has failed him—and that his own body has been used as a weapon—Eli flees, beginning a desperate fight to prove his innocence and uncover what really happened.
