Chapter 12 brings some serious conviction as we talk about Jephthah and his quarrel with the tribe of Ephraim. Jephthah distinguished the Ephraimites by saying one word: Shibboleth. If they could say it right, they would live. In the same way, one word saves us, Jesus. But how do you say it? Do you claim Jesus with a genuine heart sold out for the Gospel? Or someone who says he is a nice savior, but we haven't given him our full heart. Even more, do your words show that you are a Christian?
