At the recommendation of our friend and listener Kiyono, we discuss this novel about the island of Moloka’i, a historical fiction from the early 1900’s. Here are the lessons we learned from this gripping book:
-Leprosy sucked! But it didn’t have to! It is easily treatable, and in fact, most people have enough immunity and never get sick from exposure to this bacteria anyway!
-Be nice to your sister! Don’t call her a Leper in public- the health inspector may just come take her away!
-Rachel made the most of her crappy situation. She always found a way to embrace happiness and give back to others- let that be an inspiration to us all!
Y’all be sure and check out our FB video from last week, featuring Justin Till and our new jingle! A big thanks to him for the awesome new tunes!
