We returned from our 3 week vacation to the realization that Mario Cristobal is our Head Coach. It still makes us tingle! We talked about the staff building that’s going on, including what may have been an ill-advised move by our new Strength & Conditioning Coach. We reviewed the recruiting wins Mario has had and the ones he may be adding over the next month or so. Discussed some NIL news and the cool things the Ruiz Family is doing in that regard. We also brought back a segment longtime listeners will remember…5 Questions. Let’s see how Scoop does this time around.

But of course it's Toast that plays devil's advocate, as he's afraid a change in leadership could force the athletic program to take a step back.  
 We also address the unnamed ACC coach that said the questions at Miami surround the coaching staff far more than the stacked roster, and Scoop goes in on Lindy Sports for leavine Rueben Bain off the All-ACC predictions.  
 Plus a wide open wheel of topics takes us to Danny Hurley rejecting the LA Lakers (UConn fan Toast weighs in), we call for Major League Eating to free Joey Chestnut, and everyone is completely astounded by the rodeo bull that got loose in Oregon.

#125: Bad Backer-Inners

Roman's having back problems, Toast is working a lot, and Scoop is all over the place as we get things rolling this week. And the most important question of the night kicks off with the question about whether we're buying the preseason rankings... and sure enough everyone continues to fall in on different sides of the narrative. 
 Somehow we get into a full-on discussion about the Cola wars, now that Dr. Pepper has surpassed Pepsi as #2 on the best selling soda list. And as we pull the car back onto the road we take a good look at the ACC power rankings and get worried that Miami might be coming in with too much hype. 
 Plus some absolutely amazing audio of the week from Houston activist Quanell X, and everyone gets their licks in on the media frenzy around Caitlin Clark, largely in agreement that the girls in the league need to get on board with what she's done for the sport and just play her tough and stop with the sensitivity.  
 And, as always, we close things out with a round of Five Questions, including who we'd take the fall for, things we shouldn't be congratulated for, games we can never stop playing, cheap food we'll never stop eating, and the room we'd make in our dream home.

Facial hair and Brazilian waxes open up this week's show for some reason, but we quickly transition to the "all in" proposition for the Canes as we get into Summer. Everyone has strong feelings about the defensive line, pointing out that seasons we felt confident were years when the defense was relentless. Toast hopes this "all in" mentality translates to the first year of a decade-long run, and Scoop feels like if this first effort is successful that this could become a perennial trend. 
 Roman also gives a quick wrap on the UM baseball season before we launch into this week's  Wheel of... Audio! We got from the hilariously viral Wheel of Fortune contest, the Oklahoma high school soccer announcer that trashed the players on a hot mic, the man who Zoomed into his court appearance for driving on a expired license while driving, a fan pigging out at the White Sox vs Blue Jays game, and Jaelen Phillips finding an Iguana in his toilet. 
 Plus we also touch on the passing of Bill Walton, the Home Alone house being for sale, and the pilot jumping the gun on a Ft Lauderdale flight and telling the passengers to prepare for a water landing. And Scoop has a serious moment as we reflect on the tragic passing of Grayson Murray.  
 And, as always, we close things out with a round of Five Questions, including things that are off limits at the gym, what car we'd use if we were Doc Brown, movies we wish we could wipe from our memories, the hardest thing to throw away, and the funniest thing we would say to the cops during a traffic stop.

#123: A Small Shrub On My Face

More big signings have everyone drinking on a weeknight, as we talk about the big defensive end that Mario just landed in the portal... and the pressure continues to mount. Plus the Jaden Rashada lawsuit gives us the opportunity to laugh at the Florida Gators as he sues UF and Billy Napier over an unpaid NIL deal, even though the Miami side of the story is a little ugly in its own right. There's a good chance this story ruins Florida's NIL cred going forward. 
 We also get Scoop's reaction to the anarchy of the Scottie Scheffler arrest at the PGA Championship, and wonder if he'll actually see jail time due to the severity of the charges. We also highlight some amazing audio of the week from Minnesota Timberwolves stars Anthony Edwards and Karl Anthony-Towns, and have some fun with Ben Affleck claiming he was "temporarily insane" when he married J-Lo. And how good can the new Wendy's 50-piece nugget really be if it only costs $15.

The boys are back and we immediately dive into Mario's ever-growing expectations as the roster continues to grow. But with such big expectations, we need more than just a roster that looks good on paper, it needs to work on the field. And with a 3:30 kick in the season opener at Florida, no one wants to sit in the boiling hot sun in the middle of the day in Gainesville. 
 Roman also overcame a huge fear by actually getting a massage, which leads us into a wild conversation about Ro's neck phobia. And this week's Wheel of Topics brings us the most hated man in America in Harrison Butker (which wasn't as bad as it's being spun), Netflix green lighting Happy Gilmore 2, and the porn reporter that invaded Luka Doncic's post-game press conference. Plus NFL creative schedule releases and the haunting red Prince Charles portrait.
