Charity Sucks, I Know. Mutual Aid Left Me Roses... (April 6th, 2020)

Listen Later

From the patchwork of groups across NH who have already made hundreds of thousands of personal protective equipment for frontline workers to the neighborhoods and communities across the state building new relations to each other to address needs directly, more and more people are incorporating mutual aid as part of their habit and culture and WE ARE HERE FOR IT.In this episode we talk with Em, a NH resident based in southern NH, who has been part of building mutual aid projects in NH even before the COVID-19 outbreak. We talk about why mutual aid is important to us and explore the concept of “Solidarity Not Charity” which is one of the main tenets of Mutual Aid practice and theory.Don’t forget to follow us on instagram, facebook, and twitter @leftinnewhampshire! Resources from the conversation: To support mutual aid efforts happening in NH especially for houseless and housing insecure folks donate here: https://donorbox.org/madnh Wnt to start building out a mutual aid network in your neighborhood?
