Chatarrero is the story of Precious, a Senegalese migrant in Barcelona who arrives with the dream of earning enough money for his family, only to end up collecting scrap metal and living under a bridge. After saving a child and being drawn into the life of her wealthy mother, he escapes poverty but becomes trapped in another kind of guilt. It is a stark, intimate story about migration, survival, class, betrayal, and the painful distance between the life you promised and the one you end up living.
