We always want to change other people, but the best thing you can do is to change yourself. When someone isn’t doing something that you believe they should be don’t get upset. Question whether you could be doing something different to change the situation.

In relationships, we tend to get upset with our mate. Always saying, they never do what I want them to do, or if they had just listened to me. Don’t forget they are on this earth trying to make it just like you are. Everyone is here learning and growing. No one is perfect, not even you. What you believe is correct today may not be your belief two years from now. Learn to give others grace, because you’ll need them to give you some.

The only person that you can control is you. Choose to be a good person, and learn to be understanding of others. Don’t judge people; that will make you harsh towards others. Practice compassion, and you will be tolerant of others’ faults.

Sometimes we can get very confident in life when we’ve been so lucky as to never experience anything bad. We look at others and think, “That could never happen to me”. The reality is that it could happen to you at any moment.

Life, God, and the Universe are teachers, and they get our attention in painful ways. You can be stuck in a teaching moment for a day, week, or years. It all depends on how fast you can learn the lesson.

It’s important during these times not to lose hope.

We like to call hope faith, but when you are in the moment of the fight, you tend to forget the teachings of faith. You may realize that you truly don’t have faith, even though you thought you did.

When we forget our faith, we become hopeless, which leads to depression. Depression is a monster that needs to be fought every minute of the day. You can’t allow yourself to be defeated by the monster. During these times, it’s good to be outside, smell the fresh air, and run your bare feet in the grass.

The goal during this time is to enrich your faith by studying those who have overcome bad situations. Don’t try to copy what they did; just be aware of the circumstances they faced that ultimately led to hope and relief.

It’s easy to blame others for something not happening that you believe should have. Most of the time, we blame our parents for something that happened to us as kids. Circumstances of the past are like a rock tide to your ankle, and you are trying to tread water with it. You have to let go of the circumstances, or it will drown you.

Today is a new day for you, and it’s up to you to forgive. If you don’t, you will be stuck in the same place the rest of your life. If you don’t believe me, think of how miserable you’ve been consistently playing the circumstances over and over. Choose to leave them behind for a happier life.

It is that simple, don’t make it complicated.

As we age we forget to live, following all the rules and leaving our child like selves behind.

This has been a hard last couple of weeks. Someone that I enjoyed spending time with passed away unexpectedly. It made me realize that I’m too serious in my life.

Took the time today to write this post on my day off. Making sure that I took the time to do what I wanted to do.

One of the most exciting things to me is driving my car that I’ve had for a month. Being a grandpa I went for a sports sedan. It makes me feel alive…

Continue to do things that make you feel alive. It doesn’t have to be something elaborate.

Each day is a blessing to be here on this earth. We forget that because of the grind of our jobs and family duties.
