Chef Jesse Macdonald: the island chef

Today's guest is an Islander. Born and raised in Launching, PEI, Jesse Macdonald was born into a fourth-generation lobster fishing family where he would hold every position in the family's lobster boat from "cork to captain." Jesse is now a culinary ambassador for Rodd hotels, an executive chef, and he works for the culinary Institute of Canada. 

In this episode, hear Jesse talk about his love for PEI (seriously, he loves it), feeding kids and how food education should start in kindergarten, why mental and physical wellness for chefs is so crucial, as well as his own eating habits and cooking with simple and fresh ingredients as a new(ish) dad.
