My best practice advice and How do I prepare to play to a crowd?

"Honestly, just have fun. As a DJ and Producer you have to fall in love with rhythm and melody - to the point where you feel it physically. The music you play should give you a sense of peace in your mind - which is also important for myself; keep a clear mind when you’re mixing - don’t overthink. I know sometimes mixing can be frustrating, especially in early stages when you’re trying to perfect your craft but always trust that you’ll keep getting better. You can’t get worse, it’s impossible, just make sure you love and enjoy what you’re doing more than the moments of frustration. The best piece of advice I can give to anyone is always mix with your ears (not your eyes) - train your ear and trust your ear.

When playing to a crowd, my sets are almost like a wordless conversation between myself and the crowd. You can plan certain blends which you know will work well, but something I’ve learnt is that it’s impossible to plan an entire live set. I still do, to this day, but what I play should only be a response to what I see going on in front of me - If someone’s tryna catch a whine to headie one I know its my time to run some Vybz Kartel, you get me?"
