In the quiet suburb of Elk Grove, a familys brutal murder shocks the community in 1976. The Colombo family, including father Frank, mother Mary, and teenage son Michael, are found dead in their home. The only survivor is daughter Patty, who was estranged from her family due to her wild lifestyle and relationship with married pharmacist Frank DeLuca. Patty and DeLuca are soon identified as the prime suspects, with Patty accused of plotting the murders for insurance money. Both are convicted and sentenced to 200 years in prison, with Patty repeatedly seeking parole but consistently denied.
