Wine of the WeekMatteo Braidot Ribolla Gialla 2019 from Italy. Stone fruit, beeswax, wildflower, lemon curd. Acid is balanced, not crazy. A delicious wine at a great price.Purchased from Augusta Food & Wine in Lincoln Square. If you haven’t been to this shop, get thee over there: It’s a great place. Don’t miss their Thursday tastings (see the tasting list below) or the gourmet halvah that’s on their shelves.Chicago Wine NewsSpeaking of Augusta Food & Wine, I attended last Thursday’s tasting and got to try a wine that I’ve had my eye on for awhile: Red Tail Ridge Cab Franc Dry Rosé 2021 by winemaker Nancy Irelan. Really delicious, has a good price point, and is a welcome addition to my pink wine rotation. I’ve also seen it at Taste in Rogers Park, so I advise calling around to see if your favorite wine shop has this bottle.Closed for RenovationsJoe’s Wine Cellar’s closed for rebranding July 10th.
