Childhood obesity has reached epidemic proportions in the African American community. Overweight Black children can suffer from some very adult diseases like diabetes, high blood pressure and heart disease. Lack of exercise, inaccessability to fresh foods, and cultural beliefs all contribute to obesity in children.
