The Chinese government has reportedly hit out at Australian politicians for supporting a Taiwanese event in Sydney. Newscorp is reporting 11 MPs received an email saying the Consulate-General 'firmly opposes' their attendance at a gala dinner celebrating Taiwan's newly-inaugurated President.
