Jacqueline and Marijoy Chiong were sisters from Cebu who were believed to have been kidnapped, raped, and murdered in July 1997. The case was controversial and garnered significant attention because some of the suspects came from well-known families. The alleged brutality of the crime, the controversial trial, and its aftermath added to its notoriety. Seven men were convicted in the case, but the bodies of the sisters have not been recovered to this day.
