Christmastime is here, and that means cookies. Specifically, that means the toasty, chocolatey goodness of Ruth Wakefield's original Toll House Chocolate Chip Cookie.
It's no accident that this recipe has stood the test of time, but we here at Junk Feud! think we've cracked the code on the best cookie recipe not only in this universe, but in any world in the multiverse (and you can check it out below...)
There's nothing finer in the world than a fresh, warm, home baked chocolate chip cookie, but does it have what it takes to take home the Kringle Kup and be the world champion of holiday snacks? Find out next on Junk Feud!
Multiversal Chocolate Chip Cookies of Madness
These cookies use all of the contemporary internet chocolate chip cookie secret ingredients and techniques to produce a cookie that tastes equally homemade and store bought at the same time.
2 sticks butter
2 eggs
300 grams flour
225 grams chopped chocolate
Flaky sea salt
Brown the butter, remove from heat and transfer to a bowl, stir in the ice cube, and chill until firm.
Cream the butter, sugar, and crisco until light and fluffy. Scrape the bowl.
Add the eggs one at a time and beat well until combined. Add in the vanillas and beat until combined. Scrape the bowl.
Stir together the dry ingredients and add to the wet ingredients. Mix just until combined. Scrape the bowl.
Chop the chocolate into chunks then add with the discs to the dough. Mix until just combined.
Portion into 60 gram balls on a cookie sheet and chill for 72 hours. Bake 12 minutes at 350 with convection until edges are golden brown and set and middle is still gooey. Remove from oven and sprinkle with flaky sea salt. Let cool on cookie sheet ten minutes and transfer to wire rack to finish cooling.
Eat.
