š This Thanksgiving, weāre stepping into one of the most astonishing moments of Godās providence in early American history. šāØ
The Pilgrims were grieving a brutal winter, weakened, hungry, and unprepared for a land they didnāt know. Yet God was already arranging provision they couldnāt see. šš
That provision arrived through a Native American man named Squantoāa man who endured kidnapping, enslavement, forced travel across oceans, and the devastating loss of his entire tribe. šāļøš
History doesnāt record his motives. But it does record his actions: Squanto stepped toward the Pilgrims with generosity, teaching them how to grow food, fish, and survive. His kindness helped an entire community endure. š½šš¤
This episode reflects on how Squantoās service stands in contrast to the bitterness his suffering could have produced. And it challenges usāthose who follow Jesusāto choose gratitude over bitterness in our own storms. āØšļø
Romans 8:28 and 1 Thessalonians 5:18 arenāt just verses; theyāre invitations to trust Godās providential care even through the hardest chapters. šš„
Today, friend, let Squantoās example and Godās providence lift your eyes:
š Choose gratitude over bitterness.
š Choose mercy over withdrawal.
š Choose trust over cynicism.
Happy Thanksgiving. Go love someone with open hands today. š§”š¤²š
