To the choirmaster: according to Muth-labben. A Psalm of David.
I will give thanks to the Lord with my whole heart;
3 When my enemies turn back,
5 You have rebuked the nations; you have made the wicked perish;
7 But the Lord sits enthroned forever;
9 The Lord is a stronghold for the oppressed,
11 Sing praises to the Lord, who sits enthroned in Zion!
13 Be gracious to me, O Lord!
15 The nations have sunk in the pit that they made;
17 The wicked shall return to Sheol,
18 For the needy shall not always be forgotten,
19 Arise, O Lord! Let not man prevail;
Central Idea: Because God is faithful in every season, we can choose to praise him even when challenges come.
I. Resolve to Praise (vv. 1-2)
II. Recall His Past Deliverance (vv. 3-12)
III. Rejoice in His Present Deliverance (vv. 13-14)
IV. Rest in His Future Deliverance (vv. 15-20)
