“Choices of the Chosen out Ones that exhibit Jesus to the World today.”
Scripture
1Pe 1:1 Peter, an apostle of Jesus Christ, To the pilgrims of the Dispersion in Pontus, Galatia, Cappadocia, Asia, and Bithynia,
1Pe 1:2 elect according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, in sanctification of the Spirit, for obedience and sprinkling of the blood of Jesus Christ: Grace to you and peace be multiplied.
The most important work we can do as a church is to see Christ formed in people. If you can connect someone to Christ within, they will realize how to live, to care for others, to love God and humanity without external motivation. This is really the genius of God through the church that helps people to coordinate their functions and synergize their faith to see a corporate representation of Christ through a local church. While many churches focus on activities and find their mandates in external missions, the internal mission is often neglected – to focus inward on Christ will release the outward commission to go and make disciples of all nations more effectively, not the other way around. Jesus first drew his disciples to Himself and taught them His ways, gave them His Spirit, then they were sent out.
When Apostle Peter wrote this epistle, he was addressing a large and worldwide audience. He covered a region stretching from Pontus, Galatia, Cappadocia, Asia and Bythinia. In the region where he had apostolic influence, he reminded them of the choices of the chosen out ones that they had made and were going to make in the future. There is no more relevance topic for the church today.
Here are some “Choices of the Chosen out Ones” that exhibit Jesus to the World today.
1. Chosen as Ambassadors of Jesus Christ representing the kingdom of heaven in a dark world.
The word ‘apostle’ means
apostolos [ap-os’-tol-os]
a delegate; specifically an ambassador of the Gospel; officially a commissioner of Christ (“apostle”), (with miraculous powers): – apostle, messenger, he that is sent. Strong’s Concordance G652
You get those who function in the office of an apostle and that is a divine calling requiring full consecration of spirit soul and body. You do not sign up to be an apostle. God decides. But everyone can be an apostolic person, sent by God into daily life as an ambassador of the kingdom of heaven. It is like everyone can operate in the gift of prophecy, but few are called to live in the office of a prophet.
The good news is that you can choose to be chosen as an ambassador by accepting the great command to love and the great commission to go and make disciples of all nations, wherever you are!
2. Chosen and Unafraid to living next to pagans who have been given over to uncleanness.
Stop worrying about your pagan neighbours and start loving them. We live in a sinful world but sin shall not have dominion over us. The thing is to not fear and to settle yourself by faith that if God is for you, who can be against you. Greater is He that is in you than he that is in the world.
1Jn 4:4 You are of God, little children, and have overcome them, because He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world.
3. Sown as chosen seeds throughout the world, where we are sent daily.
The word for ‘sown’ is ‘scattered’ like the diaspora of a nation across the world.
Diaspora [dee-as-por-ah’]
From G1289; dispersion, that is, (specifically and concretely) the (converted) Israelites resident in Gentile countries: – (which are) scattered (abroad). Strong’s Concordance G1290
4. Elected to be chosen out ones
The fact is that you choose to be chosen. You can decide whether you are a vessel of honour or dishonor as we read in the following epistle:
2Ti 2:20 But in a great house there are not only vessels of gold and silver, but also of wood and clay, some for honour and some for dishonour.
2Ti 2:21 Therefore if anyone cleanses himself from the latter,
