This right here is a certified long boi! Chris and I have known each other since '06 or so (the days of Stuck With Arthur and Boo Radley respectively) but we have never talked for as long as we did on this particular evening over FaceTime. The full unabridged conversation would have clocked in around three and a half hours, so I think I cut enough while leaving in plenty of wonderful tangents, hot takes, and friendly bullshitting.
In addition to discussing the production of Christopher's newest record, I Am Christopher, we hit on the topics of streaming, the environmental impact of physical media, his feelings about ego and how it relates to live performance, and A BUNCH of other things. One of the hardest things about editing this episode was that every time I started to think that a tangent was running on too long, a fun or insightful moment would pop up, mostly on Christopher's end. So in the end it is long, but I hope you have even half as much fun listening to this as we did recording it.
OR hit up Grand Phony's website to directly purchase this album or the new one from brother band Gloom Balloon: https://grandphony.com/
As always, I appreciate you listening and your support in whatever form you show it, even if it is just to sit through my awkward Anchor ad. Enjoy CTC or whatever independent music you love, and when you listen, listen closely!
