I think it's good exercise that you've talked about this from stage times I've heard you when you're going down and you're getting to the base metrics of your marketing and your sales. Like, marketing is about how many eyes are looking at your message, then how many of those eyes do you convert into people that have an interest and it goes on. Well, same thing with, you know, I was in a previous industry, the mortgage industry, and this was pre, pre, it wasn't pre-search, but it was before search became so available where people were looking for stuff and we, you know, in the early 2000s, we were still using telemarketing as a way to generate our business. I had 18 telemarketers that generated lease force every single day. And before that, you did it yourself. And I can remember when I first started in the industry, this is in the 90s, I was like, okay, I have to call this many people every single day. And if I don't talk to anybody tomorrow, I gotta talk to, or I gotta call that many people again tomorrow, and it's easy, like make a call, you talk to somebody taking their information, great. Now you're motivated and you're onto the next one, but what if you go three days and you're making those calls and nobody's talking to you, like you stop, you are not going to get yourself to the next level. And that's, you know, you can take that and put it to anything in your business, whether it be marketing, sales, the operations piece, dealing with customers, whatever it may be. There is base metrics or there are base standards that you have to complete every single day. And if you don't, your business isn't gonna move forward. But sometimes when you complete those, and I'm sure you've dealt with this too, Chris, like there isn't a winning outcome every single day where you're like, yeah, I did it. Let's go. You need be motivated then. What about when you've hunt? You've handed out 5,000 flyers and nobody called you. Right? Or you put out 50 yard signs and didn't get a phone call, what do you do? Do you stop? No. Because if you stop doing the activity, you're never going to get the result.
Yeah, that's right. And, and I would, I want to just discipline and then the one more would be, being intentional. I think if you're intentional in your business, things happen. I see so many entrepreneurs, like hoping and wishing like I just I hope this year's better than last year. I hope I get more phone calls this month than last month. I hope our close rate goes up and it's like, no, no. Each one of these pieces you have to be super intentional, and you just have to break them down in like little bite size. Like how am I answering the phone and how I'm gonna be super intentional on how I answer the phone? How am I overcoming sales objections? I'm gonna be super intentional on that, like, And not having any part of your business that operates off of hopes and wishes. Like if you have any part of your business that operates off of hoping and wishing, I would say put an intention there of like, all right, I'm gonna turn that hope into an intention. Like how do I change that? So those two things, discipline and intention. I think, man, if you get those two things right, cause the marketing's gonna come, the sales is gonna come, those are just systems. But the other two things are mindset and that's the hardest part of this thing to be, believe it or not, bro.
Absolutely. I mean, mindset, mindset will take you so many places.
Oh man. It, it's the touché thing to say, you know, it's the truth.
But it's so true. But it's so true. I mean, if you wake up every day intentional and, you know, we're two individuals that, you know, our childhood sucked. Sucked in a different way than yours, but they sucked. And if you let that stuff just fester and take over, it's easy to go. But that's not gonna pay your bills today. That's not gonna put you in a position to be successful today. It's not gonna let you focus on going after your purpose. Like anything that's happened to you in life, you have to take it, look at it, and go. Number one, how do I not go back to that place? And then number two, what do I do that affects others positively so they can see that I'm not going back to that place? I think the giver mentality helps us with mindset more than anything else, at least it does me. When I'm focused on giving, and, I'm not talking about monetarily like you can give with time, resource, money.
Right. Solve Value. Give value.
Give value. Exactly. When you do that, I think that in itself helps your mindset more than anything else. But as touché cliché as it is, my mindset is a difference maker between you being successful and you just hoping all the time you. At least it is for me. So, I know you have a few of these and I know it was interesting, I just saw you talking about, and you just mentioned it again, but I saw you talking about Cub Scouts. I see you're gonna be a pack leader.
Not yet. Dude, not don't throw me in that pack yet. No, no, not yet. I'm just a pack dad.
You're trying to get there, right? You're trying to get there. Come on.
Yeah. Yeah, dude. Yeah.
You, I, I know you always got a lot of stuff going on. I'm sorry, go ahead. No, no, that's alright.
I was like, I was gonna say, I know you got lot of stuff going on. That's just one of the many things. Yeah. But also tell us a few of the things that you're working on or you're passionate about right now that you're trying to make happen.
Yeah. So, long term in the next five years, like my wife and I would hope to launch a church here in our small town, seems like the church world's getting to be more business type CEO type. So they're only looking for metropolitan, you know, pockets, and we live in a small town, so that's the five year plan. Three, five years now. Three, five, we want to be inside prisons. We want to go inside orphanages, be inside a foster care system given, you know, anybody that, any of these kids that feel hopeless, prisoners feel hopeless, putting entrepreneurial programs in there so that way they don't have to rely on the system for money. They can rely on their own, you know, their talents and then immediately we're opening up our shop here and we're gonna start doing live trainings here at our shop. Just small, intimate, you know, 10 person gatherings. And then building out like literal, like their game plan for the whole year. So when they leave here, they know exactly how many leads they need, how many calls they're gonna need to get the leads, what their close rate is, and how they're gonna close them, and what the sales objections are, how they're gonna overcome them, and so that's immediately. So, yeah man, I'm excited about the future. It's gonna be a good three to five years and it's gonna be a good next 12 months. So I'm excited.
Yeah. I mean, I knew about the church cause you mentioned that when you were in Orlando. So let me ask you this. Cause I think we have similar backgrounds related to church. I mean, number one, we both love Jesus. So you got that, right? But I guess, what's gonna be like the, what's the word? Like the launch strategy, like how are you gonna do that? Is it gonna be more like you try to get as many people, you know, meet people, whatever, Hey, come here, or is it, get a group together and try to grab a lot of people?
Honestly, we're not even trying to do a large church. My goal isn't even to do a, you know, I'm from a small town. My goal is to, is one person at a time. I think where the church lacks is discipleship. Yeah. One thing I bring to the table that a lot of pastors don't, as a lot of pastors, depend on their pastor job to be their salary. So they have to have people, they have to have the numbers. I'm an entrepreneur. I have the awesome privilege of being able to make money at any other, you know, venture to where I don't need 10,000 people. I don't need 5,000 people. I just, if we can help just the 500 people that are in that area, and our launch strategy is just like in the Book of Acts discipling one person. And I call it network ministry. You know, network marketing is, they teach you how to, one person goes, gives in three, well, we're gonna disciple one and teach them how to disciple three, and then we just keep going on down the branch, and that's gonna be our launch strategy is not, we're not going after other people's church members. We're, you know, it's purely gonna be discipleship of a, you're gonna see your life change in the byproduct that everybody around you is gonna see your life, and they're gonna say, "Hey dude, what the heck? How did your life change? How's your marriage so strong?" And you're gonna point them, dude, ever since I started going to this church, boom. You know what I mean? And that's gonna be our launch strategy.
Cool. Cool. I like it. I like it.
I'm excited. You got me excited just talking about it.
I mean, you know, Jenny and I, of course will come at least once. I mean Yeah,
That's right.
I mean, we'll come and hang out. So, tell us how we can get people that want to get in touch with you, how they get in touch with you. Maybe they're interested in the training that you're talking about. Like what's a great way to reach out and get ahold of Chris Martinez.
Yeah. @highticketchris you can find me on Instagram there. I think YouTube, it's high ticket window cleaning. Yeah, I'm not really good at, the, you know, having one, so you're just gonna have to type in Chris Martinez. You'll find me, dude. Connect with me. I'm always available to help, man. Like, I'm not someone that's like, Hey, buy an hour of my time. You got a question? Message me like I'm always here to help, you know, just do the work. Google Chris Martinez. You'll find me .
There you go. Well, man, I appreciate you taking your time to spend with us. I know you got a ton of things going on, but, definitely was a pleasure. Guys, if you have questions, like I said, I know Chris really well, and exactly what he said is true, if have a question, reach out. He is one of the most accessible people that you'll find. At the same time, I think that the trainings that he's gonna offer will help a lot of people in terms of those individuals that don't know what they should be doing. Based upon what I know of Chris and what he's put out before, will give you a, a step-by-step plan. So if you have an interest, check it out. If you're like me waiting on this church, follow him. He'll be putting out content, I'm sure, and we're all interested to see his journey in the Cub Scouts. I mean, Maximilian, I'm sure like he's the Cub Scout, but I'm interested to see how Chris like we're gonna get some good stuff, man. Right?
Oh dude. You're gonna see me like uniformed up here pretty soon with the, a neckerchief. I just learned that word for the first time yesterday. A neckerchief dude. A neckerchief, and then anyways, man.
Yeah. That's good stuff. Well, thanks for hanging out, man. We appreciate you doing that. And, thanks for listening. Make sure you guys go out and DMN8 the day.
