Beaver Tales

Chris Pine: the first big recruit Pat Casey got at OSU

Listen Later

Chris Pine was an Oregon State pitcher at the beginning of the Pat Casey era, earning First-Team All-Conference as a freshman in 1996. He was drafted in the 5th round of the 1998 MLB Draft, endured two Tommy John surgeries and still made it to the AAA level during his pro career. He now co-owns The Yard Baseball Academy in Beaverton (https://theyardbba.com/), helping instruct the next generation on the diamond.

Chris Pine helps offer a perspective on Pat Casey in the 90s, a helpful addition for the documentary I'm producing on the Beaver Baseball team and how it culminated in a special 2018 season.
