The Passover was never primarily about Israel or Egypt. It was God passing judgment on the gods of Egypt, and the entire event was a portrait of Christ.
This teaching traces the Passover's three elements through Christ: the lamb, the bread, and the door. Jesus is the male lamb whose blood was shed, the bread of life broken for those who partake, and the door through which judgment passes over. Because it was eternal blood that was shed, not the blood of a goat, the access purchased is eternal. The teaching then moves to Matthew 27:15-25, where the crowd's declaration to Pilate, "let his blood be upon us and our children," becomes an unwitting proclamation of salvation. Sons of Abba were freed precisely because the true Yeshua was exchanged for Barabas, son of Abba. The session closes on a distinction that reorients how believers live: the blood dealt with sin, but the life in the blood dealt with nature. Whatever washes you defines you, and sons washed in the blood of God carry the fragrance of Christ.
SCRIPTURE: Exodus 12, John 10:9-10, John 6:35, John 1:4, Matthew 27:15-25, 2 Corinthians 2:14
