Laurie is an inspirational speaker, Bible teacher, singer, songwriter, and published freelance writer. Laurie was critically injured in a tragic car accident at the age of 14. She grew up in Anderson, SC, completed a business degree at Clemson University, and earned a Bible Certificate from Columbia Biblical Seminary, Columbia, SC. Laurie also completed a Masters of Divinity in Women’s Studies/Biblical Languages at Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary, Wake Forest, NC. She and her husband, Kevin, are in full-time ministry. Kevin serves as a chaplain for a local hospice and also for the SC Army National Guard. Laurie and her husband have three children, Luke, Lydia Ruth and Canaan, and reside in Anderson, SC. 

Laurie manages her independent ministry. She has written a book detailing her testimony entitled Laurie’s Story, Discovering Joy in Adversity. She’s also been gifted by God with a beautiful voice and her CDs can be purchased at www.lauriethompsonministries.com.
